Minecraft’ director reacts to ‘chicken jockey’ trend: ‘It’s just a bonanza’
The founder and director of Minecraft, Markus Persson, also known as Notch, reacted on Twitter to the recent phenomenon of chicken jockeys in the game.
PC Gamer also reached out to Microsoft and Mojang Studios for comment on the recent trend, and whether we could see official chicken costumes or a chicken-focused update in the future.
The current trend sees players dressing chickens up in armour and riding them, as the jockeys, as opposed to the traditional horse-based mounts. Players have been experimenting with the concept since at least 2011, but it has seen a resurgence in popularity recently, spreading to servers and social media.
