Nancy Mace Slams ‘Evil’ Constituents Hounding Her Office

A Republican state lawmaker in South Carolina is calling out what she describes as hate-filled correspondence from her constituents, which she says has been escalating, with some even threatening her young children.

Rep. Nancy Mace

Rep. Nancy Mace (R–SC) shared a photo on Twitter of a letter she received, which included a picture of her two children with the words, “Are your children awake yet? I love you, kids.” The letter also warned that “this is far from over,” and that Mace had “made a very bad decision.”

“Sadly, this is not the first letter, call, or email of this nature that myself or my staff have received,” Mace wrote on Twitter. “What’s different about this one is the creative decision to include my children’s photos and the sender’s apparent obsession with my kids’ sleeping habits.”

Mace, who is currently serving her second term in the South Carolina House of Representatives, has been an outspoken critic of former President Donald Trump, even joining the House Freedom Caucus in a vote to impeach Trump for inciting the January 6 insurrection.

In her tweet, Mace said that “it’s time for the GOP to expel Trumpism from our party,” before adding that the “hate and rage” being directed at her and her family “is not normal or OK.”

“These are not the values of South Carolina or the America that I know and love,” she wrote.
