Meryl Streep and Martin Short Have Been Dating for a Year

It’s been a year since Hollywood’s most unexpected couple went public with their relationship, and they’re still going strong. No, we’re not talking about Bennifer 2.0 (although they are thriving too!), but someone even more iconic: Meryl Streep and Martin Short. The pair, who starred together in the Apple TV+ series “The Morning Show,” began dating in early 2018, and now they’re opening up about their relationship in a new cover story for Entertainment Tonight.

“Martin is a delight, he’s a delicious man, and we have a ball. We laugh, we talk, we argue, we get along brilliantly,” Streep, 64, told the outlet. “It’s been a very, very happy year, a year of joy.”

Short, 65, added that he and Streep both have a “similar sense of humor,” and that they’re each other’s biggest fans. “We make each other howl,” he said. “She makes me laugh more than any person I’ve ever met in my life.”

While the couple first went public with their relationship in December 2018, Short said they actually stepped out for the first time as a couple at the 2019 Golden Globes. They also recently walked the red carpet together at the premiere of Short’s new film, “Jinx,” at the Tribeca Festival.

In the ET interview, Streep and Short also gushed about their mutual love for the film “La La Land”, which they’ve each seen 16 times, and shared stories about their respective families: Streep has four children, and Short has three.
