The Dallas Mavericks bounced back from a tough loss on Wednesday night with a statement win over the New Orleans Pelicans. The Mavs were able to contain the league’s leading scorer, Zion Williamson, holding him to just 21 points, well below his average of 33.1 points per game.

Luka Dončić led the way for the Mavericks, posting a massive stat line of 41 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists. The Pelicans had no answer for Dončić, who was able to consistently create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates. Additionally, Josh Green gave the Mavericks a huge lift off the bench, providing 18 points, including four made three-pointers. The Mavericks shot well from deep overall, making 15 three-pointers as a team.

With this win, the Mavericks improve their record to 42-26, maintaining their position as the current No. 5 seed in the Western Conference. The team will now have a couple of days off before returning to action on Monday, February 27, when they face the Chicago Bulls at home.
